Fox Sports NFL Pregame Show
Chimpanzee Exploited on Fox Sports NFL Pregame Show on December 16, 2007
January 6, 2008
A recent Fox Sports NFL Pregame show exploited a chimpanzee “actor” in a skit meant to poke fun at Fox NFL Studio Analyst Terry Bradshaw. The chimpanzee was dressed in a suit, to portray Bradshaw, and called “stupid.”
What you can do:
Please contact Fox Sports to express your disapproval of their choice to exploit a chimpanzee and demean the entire chimpanzee species in this truly disgraceful segment.

Dear Fox Sports Representative,
I was shocked and disturbed to see a young chimpanzee “actor” exploited on the December 16th Fox Sports NFL Pregame Show. Chimpanzees exploited for entertainment endure physically and psychologically brutal training methods at the hands of their trainers. In addition, “retirement” at age 6 or 7 usually means being cast off to roadside zoos or other substandard facilities, where they are often condemned to solitary confinement.
This offensive skit implies that chimpanzees are stupid, which couldn’t be further from the truth and is degrading to the species. Chimpanzees are endangered, and using them for TV skits seriously hampers conservation efforts. I hope that you will think twice before resorting to such cruel methods to attract viewers in the future. I look forward to hearing from you on this urgent matter.
Sincerely,
[YOUR NAME]
